10 Years as the Biggest "High Roller" in Las Vegas!

                                

We will take you through a pictorial and oral presentation down the path of building the Tallest Observation Wheel in the World (currently #2) has now had over a ten-year residency in Las Vegas, since its first rotation for the first official ride April 1st, 2014.  Let’s see how this this Observation Wheel is doing in its tenth year in a planned 50-year lifespan.

OUR PRESENTERS 

Ricky L. Morgan, ASNT Fellow, MInstNDT, ASNT NDT Level III, AWS CWI, ICC SSW attended Purdue University and Miami University (Middletown, Ohio) from 1979–1983 immediately following graduation from Madison High School. In 1983 Morgan choose to serve his country and joined the US Army as an 11H Infantryman. He completed his obligation to the US Army, ending his term of service as an E-5/ Sergeant. He later acquired a degree in marine technology from the College of Oceaneering.Morgan has more than 32 years of inspection and NDT experience. He is the vice president of FlawTech America since May 2018. Prior to his current position, he served as technical director of NDT and welding for Smith Emery Company from February 2016 to April 2018. Morgan established Morgan Inspection Solutions in November 2013 to January 2016, which serviced the fabrication and bridge industries. He had served Smith Emery Company since 1994 as special inspector, lead structural steel inspector, and the technical operations director – Asia.

John Kinsey has more than 34 years of industry experience in the field of nondestructive testing (NDT) and welding inspection while being a member of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) since 1986. Kinsey is employed by TRC Engineers where he works as the Director of NDT and Vice President of TRC’s Infrastructure Division. Kinsey serves a wide variety of U.S. domestic and international clients for TRC as a specialized Technical Consultant in Shanghai, China, where he has been based for the past 12 years. His professional experience and specialized consultation services have spanned many industries, including transportation, power generation, power transmission, oil and gas, pulp and paper, petrochemical, and structural steel construction. He has amassed comprehensive, practical experience in many disciplines and specialized applications of NDT to evaluate materials for compliance with codes and standards. He has extensive experience in the welding, fabrication, construction, and inspection of complex steel bridges for North America, Asia, and Europe. His bridge construction experience includes performing quality assurance welding inspections and NDT as a specialized consultant to more than ten different U.S. State Departments of Transportation and a variety of international bridge authorities, including Belgium, Canada, China, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
