A Hierarchical Bayesian Approach for Adaptive Model-Assisted Probability of Detection Over Multiple Conditions and/or Specimen Types
Biography
Nathan Scheirer is a PhD candidate at Iowa State University working with Dr. Stephen Holland on advancing probability of detection methods in NDE. Primarily focused on vibrothermography inspection techniques and NDE statistical methods, Nathan has developed novel MAPOD techniques aimed at reducing cost and improving effectiveness of POD studies.
Dr. Juan David Navarro
Postdoctoral Fellow
The University Of Texas At San Antonio
An Efficient Model-Assisted Probability of Detection Framework for Structural Health Monitoring Systems
Biography
Juan David Navarro obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad EAFIT in 2015. Following his graduation, he received a scholarship from Universidad EAFIT to pursue a Master of Sciences in Engineering. Upon graduation, In 2019 Juan David joined the Advanced Materials and Mechanical Systems Laboratory at The University of Texas at San Antonio where he started his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. During this time, Juan was awarded the Roberto Rocca Fellowship. Subsequently Juan David continued at UTSA as Postdoctoral Fellow developing novel architected metamaterials for flow control in hypersonic vehicles.
