Biography

Lucas Queiroz Machado is a Research Fellow in Non-Destructive Testing at the Institute of Sound and Vibration, University of Southampton. He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. Prior to his doctoral studies, he served as a Lecturer at both the State University of Mato-Grosso and Kroton University, Brazil, assuming a leadership role, overseeing and actively participating in various academic activities. His current research interests are NDT, computational mechanics, energy harvesting, and material characterisation.

Biography

Tyler Lesthaeghe is a research engineer at the University of Dayton Research Institute. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. in Engineering Mechanics, and is a Ph.D. Candidate at Iowa State University. His area of research is nondestructive evaluation, including ultrasound, thermography, eddy current, and resonant methods.

Biography

André L. Almeida received an MEng degree in mechanical engineering from Universidade do Porto, Portugal, in 2020, and started an EngD degree in quantitative NDE at Imperial College London, UK, in 2021. His main areas of interest include guided waves and microstructure characterisation of materials using ultrasounds.
