Breaking Barriers: The Next Generation of Computed Tomography

Presentation Description

Computed Tomography (CT) has revolutionized Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), enabling unprecedented levels of detail, precision, and efficiency in industrial inspection. This presentation will explore the latest advancements in CT technology, demonstrating how these innovations are driving the next generation of NDT applications. From high-energy LINAC CT, which allows for the penetration of dense materials with greater accuracy, to the emergence of photon-counting detectors that enhance contrast resolution and material discrimination, the evolution of CT is expanding the boundaries of defect detection and material characterization.
Cutting-edge developments such as MetalJet X-ray tube technology offer significantly higher brightness and spatial resolution, unlocking new possibilities for inspecting complex components with superior image quality. Automation is transforming CT workflows, reducing human intervention, increasing repeatability, and enabling real-time decision-making for high-throughput industries. Innovative scan trajectories, including helical and limited-angle acquisitions, are improving data acquisition strategies, optimizing inspection speed and minimizing artifacts in challenging scenarios.
The presentation will also highlight the growing role of in-situ scanning, where CT is integrated directly into manufacturing and operational environments, providing continuous monitoring and real-time insights for quality control. Novel reconstruction algorithms are pushing the limits of resolution and noise reduction, enhancing defect visualization and dimensional accuracy. Additionally, customized CT solutions are addressing industry-specific challenges, ensuring that inspection methods align with the unique requirements of aerospace, automotive, energy, and additive manufacturing sectors.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into how these advancements are shaping the future of NDT, empowering professionals with tools to improve inspection efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. By understanding the latest innovations in CT technology, participants will be better equipped to leverage these techniques for their specific applications, driving enhanced reliability and performance in critical industries.
