A Historical Retrospective of INDUSTREX EDGE Image Processing Improvements
Presentation Description
Carestream utilizes INDUSTREX image viewing software to navigate digital images. Image processing is a mathematical algorithm that can enhance the detection of discontinuities. Carestream NDT image processing came from technology developed for medical imaging by the Kodak Health Imaging Research Labs. The medical radiology image processing was adapted to industrial radiography over the last two decades and has been optimized for the NDT application. How image processing works, and best practices will be presented as part of this paper.

Biography
Brian is an imaging scientist and NAS 410 level 3 radiographer who is a key contributor to the nondestructive testing industry. He is a subject matter expert with film, computed radiography, and digital detector array radiography systems. Brian serves as a digital imaging product development leader and radiography specialist. Brian is an active member of the ASTM radiography standards committee and serves as the recording secretary for the executive main committee E07. He has authored numerous technical white papers on digital radiography. Brian is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in Imaging Science.
