Progress with On-site Neutron Imaging
Presentation Description
Last year, we discussed our efforts to bring neutron radiography benefits to local laboratories and showcased initial images from our prototype. We have since enhanced the system and plan to install it at two beta sites in the coming year. We have made several key improvements for market readiness. Enhanced shielding reduces background radiation and alleviates safety concerns. Our upgraded beam optics optimize neutron availability for imaging, while a custom neutron counting camera ensures fully digital image readouts and allows for advanced filters that improve image contrast. We will present the current prototype and new neutron images to demonstrate these performance improvements.

Biography
Serge Duarte Pinto is the Innovation Director at Exosens, where he develops advanced radiation detection solutions, including particle detectors and radiation sources. He holds a PhD in high-energy physics from the University of Bonn and has been a researcher at CERN and TU Delft. While at TU Delft, Serge developed instrumentation for neutron beamlines, specifically for the local nuclear research reactor and the European Spallation Source. He has contributed to patents and publications on detection and imaging technologies for scientific and industrial applications.
