Advanced Phased Array Applications for In-Service Inspections of HRSG Critical Components
Presentation Description
This presentation will cover multiple techniques that utilize the phased array technique to overcome challenging or novel inspections. Topics such as Header End Cap inspections, HP Bypass Valve inspections, Tee Fittings and crotch cracking, and HP Steam Drum inspections will be covered. Field experience, data files, and follow up inspections will also be discussed on the topics within the presentations.
Biography
With over 20 years of experience in the power generation sector, Mr. Haigler is a highly skilled and accomplished expert in non-destructive testing (NDE) and inspection techniques. Specializing in both nuclear and non-nuclear inspections, he has honed his expertise in ultrasonic inspection methods, accumulating over 10,000 hours of practical experience. A significant portion of this time has been dedicated to the phased array ultrasonic technique, which is integral to high-precision inspections across critical infrastructure. As Director of NDT Research and Development Mr. Haigler has focused extensively on advancing the capabilities of NDE technologies such as microwave inspection, Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT) technology, and Total Focusing Method (TFM) inspections.
