Interesting New Possibilities of Replacing the MPI With the ET

Presentation Description

The requirements for a completely autonomous system in the field of NDT have become increasingly frequent in recent times, including in the railway or defense industry. This presentation initially focuses on a general comparison of MT and ET methods and then specifically describes and practically shows how, where, why and under what conditions we, together with certification bodies or end users, implemented the transition from traditionally used methods of surface inspection of forged (or rolled) parts, e.g. parts from the field of railway maintenance, or in the production of artillery ammunition, to methods that are easier to automate, such as eddy currents, and why we did not use automation using cameras and AI in the given situations. In both described cases, these are completely new and in many parameters unique solutions that were developed to measure and are currently being implemented. In addition to the technical perspective, the presentation also provides an economic perspective.
