Details
The presentation will describe some application of inspection technologies on projects that will help in optimizing, planning and consequently controlling on-time & on-budget closure of projects. Inspection technologies will serve in tackling construction project challenges, e.g. welding inspection, equipment’s preservation, civil works. Computed Radiography (CR) is one of the recently approved technologies offers several advantages in process improvement, e.g. the elimination of hazardous chemicals and a dramatic improvement in image quality. This technology is capable to speed up project construction, improve quality and enhance safety by reducing exposure time of workers. Scattered and remote area projects encounter significant challenges in monitoring pressure containing equipment, such as heat exchangers and pressure vessels, during inspection, operation and mainly during preservation. Digital Pressure Gauge (DGS) provides continuous, remote monitoring of equipment pressure from shipment until commissioning phase. Projects are the biggest beneficiary of deploying this technology as they promote cost saving by eliminating the overtime charges needed to drive to the remote location. Digital Concrete Maturity (DCM) meter is a non-destructive wireless technology for monitoring development of concrete’s strength and temperature over time. They automate the inspection processes and provide real-time information consequently support corporate initiative of digital transformation and circular economy. This paper will illustrate on several technologies that will support the corporate objective of continuously improving the cost-effectiveness of all projects.
