Details
When old equipment comes of age certain parts, which are mostly electronics, are reaching their end of life and potentially even face obsolescence. In many cases this leads to very costly new equipment purchases and sometimes even making trade-offs, as this special equipment was tailormade for the specific inspection task in the past. There can be many reasons why keep using the old equipment can make a lot of sense - ranging from economic, logistical and sustainability reasons. In this presentations we want to provide an overview about different paths to perform retrofits, upgrades or refurbishments of legacy equipment. We will lay out the challenges and when it certainly is not economical anymore to perform them. In the end listeners, will get some practical examples of successful retrofits and takeaways for their own projects.
